The Ann Arbor T-shirt Company, composed of approximately 48 artists, screen printers, art technicians, logistics professionals, embroiderers, and support staff, operates out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. We have company soccer and kickball teams, catered employee lunches, a 401k match, and quarterly company parties around town. While treating our employees with respect is a matter of course, it makes good business sense as well. Our story began as a dorm room project between two friends at the University of Michigan, growing into a business with 50+ employees and a few canine companions, shipping apparel worldwide from Michigan.

What makes our products unique is that most are designed, printed, and embroidered entirely in our Ann Arbor factory. Our workers receive fair wages, healthcare, 401k matches, and meals. Machines, inks, and most inputs are U.S.-sourced, and the shirts are mostly made of U.S. cotton. Producing in-house allows us to maintain high quality and keep prices low.

Printing is where art meets life, and we love bringing our customers' ideas, passions, and identities to life through ink and thread. We use higher-quality apparel that doesn't break the bank but that we enjoy wearing ourselves, taking great pride in seeing how much our fans react to our designs.

As for the product details, our shirts are made of 100% U.S.-grown cotton and are machine-washable. The tagless tag is printed on the fabric inside the collar, so you can't feel it. The unisex modern fit is slightly tapered, not as boxy as traditional mass-market t-shirts. While pre-shrunk, the high-cotton content means the shirts will still shrink slightly in the wash. Our shirts are a ringspun, 30/1 fine jersey knit, soft and smooth with a high thread count, made from fuzzy plants grown by American farmers. These mid-weight shirts are a bit lighter than thick gym t-shirts but still substantial, striking a nice balance between comfort and durability.

We use high-quality QCM screen printing inks, manufactured in Pineville, North Carolina. These vibrant, durable, and crack-resistant inks are applied using top-of-the-line printing presses and ovens from M&R in Roselle, Illinois. QCM has been a leader in the industry, going phthalate-free over a decade ago and being rated as carcinogen-free by the state of California.
